Elevate Sports Camp is an opportunity to get your kids off the couch and moving this summer!  Whether your child is an experienced athlete or has never played a sport before, they'll have the opportunity to practice and improve their skills.  Designed for children who have completed grades kindergarten through fifth grade, kids will experience interactive sports sessions to teach and practice new skills, energetic rallies filled with music, snacks, inspiring sports stories, and Bible stories that will build character.  Children can choose between co-ed cheer or co-ed field hockey.  Best of all, Elevate Sports Camp is free for participants!

All the fun happens July 7th-9th from 6:00-8:30 p.m. each evening.  Register by June 8 to receive a free t-shirt!

FAQs about Elevate Sports Camp

When can we arrive each night?  Doors open at 5:30 p.m.

How do we get our child’s free t-shirt?  T-shirts for players registered prior to June 8th will be available for pick-up at a separate table after your child checks in. A limited number of additional t-shirts may be available for walk-on players.

Can my child bring a friend who didn’t register?  Absolutely!  Walk-on players are welcome.  However, we do ask that a parent/guardian either register online at www.compasscb.org/events before the child arrives or fill out a printed registration form when dropping off his/her child.

How do I check in my player?  Please enter with your child through the main doors.  A registration table will be set up at the back of the sanctuary.  Your child will receive a name tag and you will receive a pick-up tag for your child.  It is important you come in with your child every day so you can receive this pickup tag.  If someone else is picking up your child and will NOT have this pick-up tag, please notify the registration coach and provide them with the name of the individual picking up the child.

What happens after check-in?  Our huddle coaches and other volunteer staff will supervise students as they arrive and wait for our opening rally to kick off the night at 6:00 p.m.   While students wait, we’ll have some fun sports videos for them to watch as they chat with each other and coaches.

How do I pick up my player?  Pick-up will begin at 8:30 p.m.  For safety and security, please plan to enter the building to pick up your child.  Enter through the main doors into the sanctuary.  Students will be seated with their huddle coaches.  Other coaches will be able to direct you to the area in which your child is seated.  When you locate your child, please give your pick-up tag to the huddle coach and have your child turn in their name tag for the evening.  If someone else is picking up your child and does NOT have the pick-up tag, you should have provided this name at check-in.  Your child’s huddle coach will ask this person to show identification.  Please let anyone else picking up your child know they will need to provide identification.

How do I exit the building?   After you have picked up your child, please exit using the doors at the front of the sanctuary.  You will exit the building using the office door at the end of the hallway.  Coaches will be available to direct you as you leave.

Where can I park?  The church has three parking lots available to accommodate families:  the main church lot, a lot across the street to the west, and the lot across the street for our Activity Center to the south (the lot of the tan-colored building).

What should my player bring?  If possible, hockey players should bring shin guards and all players should bring water bottles.  We will also have cups and coolers of water available for players.

What if it’s hot?  Our cheer group will be meeting inside, so this is not a concern.  For field hockey, we’ve intentionally designed our camp schedule so players alternate between rallies inside and outdoor sports sessions that last about 25 minutes.  This gives players an opportunity to come inside and cool off during the rally times before heading back outside.  Players are also encouraged to drink plenty of water.

What if it rains?  We do have a rain plan!   In the event of rain, the church has a large open space on the lower level inside and field hockey would meet in this space and do modified drills and games designed for indoor play.  Rain won’t affect cheer because they will be meeting indoors.
